About The Seedlings Program
Seedlingss is the educational initiative of Digital Farm Collective (DFC). The program connects art, agriculture, science, and technology using hands-on activities and creative problem solving inspired by nature, farming and food. Our goal is to inspire curiosity, turning science into art and food into fun. We do this by developing new media tools to educate our nation’s future food producers, distributors, and consumers.
Built on National Common Core standards, the Seedlings program brings together all elements of learning by creating thought-provoking programing that exposes children to agricultural and art processes. One of the Seedlings tools is a mobile application that helps children create time-lapse media of the food they are growing in their school gardens. It allows students and teachers to record changes and growth in plants from seed to harvest and share their observations in and outside the classroom.
